You can play RIFT without an account. Guest progress stays in this browser. Signing in is optional and only adds cross-device progress syncing.

RIFT stores your puzzle progress, results, statistics, welcome choice, rules status, and theme preference in your browser's local storage. This information stays on that device and is not linked to a name, email address, or RIFT account.
Clearing this site's browser data removes guest progress. Guest progress does not automatically move to another browser or device.
When you sign in
RIFT uses Google sign-in through Supabase Auth. Google may provide your name, email address, and profile image. RIFT's profile table stores your display name and profile image URL; Supabase Auth manages your account identifier, email, and authenticated session.
To sync play, RIFT stores your account ID, puzzle date and ID, win or loss status, current attempt, and selected shard positions. Database row-level security limits each signed-in player to their own profile and progress records.
Anonymous site analytics
RIFT uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page usage. It may process details such as the page visited, timestamp, referrer, broad location, device type, operating system, and browser. RIFT does not send your puzzle answer, email, or profile to Vercel as a custom analytics event.
Vercel describes Web Analytics page views as anonymous, aggregated, and not tied to an individual or IP address, and says it does not use third-party cookies for this service.
Your choices and control
- Play as a guest without sharing Google account details.
- Sign out at any time from the account panel.
- Remove guest history by clearing RIFT's site data in your browser.
- Use your browser's privacy controls to restrict storage or scripts.
Account deletion is not currently self-service in the game. Until a dedicated support address is published, use the contact channel from which you received access to RIFT to request deletion of your synced profile and game history.
Service providers and retention
Supabase provides authentication and database storage, Google provides optional sign-in, and Vercel hosts the app and provides Web Analytics. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.
Synced profile and game records are kept while your RIFT account remains active or as needed to operate the game. Security, legal, or backup requirements may require limited additional retention. RIFT does not use game progress for targeted advertising and does not sell it.
